Fit Friday!

That's right! Every Friday I will be posting something fit related, be it motivation, recipes, superfoods, and workouts. Why?

Because being fit is important to living.

Because 1 1/2 months ago the docs confirmed I was using only half of my lungs.. and I'm now in the clear for exercising again. And I have been, for two weeks now, and its GREAT. That's my personal reason. =)

Because there's a HUGE difference between fit and skinny.

Because food is more enjoyable when you don't punish yourself for it.

Because life is so much fun when you have the energy to go through it.

Because tracking your weight sucks, and muscles are awesome.

Because you won't be in your 20's forever.

Because there is nothing like that feeling after a good workout.

Need more reasons?

And my personal reason:

I've always found the motivation to run after watching Zombieland. Heed the cardio rule.

And for you visual people out there, how's this for motivation?

Motivated yet??

One thing you will not see is a weight loss diet.
The big mac will not kill you. Don't let it OCD your mind. Do not punish your body for it. Just enjoy it, and move on.

Also, I would love LOVE for this to be a conversation. Usually, if I don't reply directly to the comments, I'll reply on your blog. Either way, get involved! Tell us about the workout you just did that rocked you, b*tch about your time on your run, or the body part that is just so stubborn lately, sound it out! At least you're trying. =)

  1. Yaaaay! Now you gonna be my motivator, too :)!

I try to go to kickboxing practice 2-3 times a week and run. I fit in all my Jeans again!!! Unbelievable! But still way to go til I look the way I did 2 years ago again... :(

I never was and never will be skinny! But I used to be in a really good shape until the day I had to start taking all these freaking meds. Water retention everywhere.

Toughest part is my belly. It seriously needs some extra workout.

Can´t wait for the next fit friday posts!!!

  3. @Anni Way to go, Anni!! Kickboxing is a great way to blast calories and build muscle. Keep it up! =)
For now, I'm trying to find that workout that keeps my interest (I get bored lol) So I switch it up between running intervals, weight training (upper body only) martial arts and my wii fit for fun dancing lol :)
I had a problem with water retention on my meds too (steroids = moonface) I found eating mostly fruits, veggies, and chicken really helped. And taking acai. :)

  4. I keep looking for Acai over here, but all you get is weird imported stuff from china and I don´t really want to take something I can´t even read the label it has on the box...
Maybe they have it at PX on Post, gotta check that out!

I´m trying this "eating clean" stuff for about 2 weeks now PLUS (i never thought I could even do it) just having 1 or 2 cups of coffee A DAY (I used to have at least 8.......). I drink gallons of green tea with slices of ginger and lemon in it. And I feel so much better already!

  5. Even with all the weight I've lost, I cannot imagine EVER having abs like that! lol (much too lazy :P - well, actually, I just haven't been feeling well enough, boo)

BUT, the last workout I've done that I do enjoy is called 'Swan Arms' by Ballet Beautiful. I actually created an acct. online there, paid a small amt., and now I can stream the video anytime I want. It always makes me more aware of my posture..makes me feel like a ballerina :) It's taught by a woman who danced ballet professionally for ten years. I have always admired dance, and have pipe-dreamed of being a dancer myself, so I love it! It's low impact, and a GREAT arm workout (improves grace and posture, and no weights are required.)

Thanks for the love!
